Well I've got all the
Well I've got all the content migrated over from editthispage, but it wasn't much fun. Just getting Userland Radio to spit out the pages in a usable form was quite a challenge. Final resort was just editing like crazy in Codewright.
This MovableType system is really very cool, but it's taken me quite a while to work out how to use it to manage content like articles, stories, and pictures. I'm getting there, but it's not quite perfect yet.
Also, this is the default style that comes out of the box. I'd like to personalise the presentation, but I'm CSS-lame so and going to have to study up on that.

I signed up with
I signed up with a new web hosting provider, www.HostingShot.com. It works out to be about $5 a month for 50Mb of storage. That's so damn cheap. The Movable Type weblogging software should run ok there, so I can move all the editthispage content over there. It works out to be about 30Mb of stuff. Mostly pictures of course. Next step is to work out how to seamlessly move the content it into the new database format. I may have to relearn perl. <shudder>.

The EditThisPage server seems
The EditThisPage server seems to have been performing poorly for quite a few days there. In general they don't seem that quick. It's been making it quite difficult to get these pages updated. Just as I feel in the right mood, the server just isn't there, or isn't very responsive. I've found that the Radio UserLand application allows offline updates which is cool, but this is still frustrating.
I've been playing with Radio some more and it seems that you can maintain a local weblog that can be uploaded to a Manila site, such as EditThisPage, and also be uploaded to a regular webserver via ftp. There's now a copy of these pages at http://www.gamepie.com/etp
Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder treason and plot. We see no reason Why gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot!
